This site comprised five separate home lots which were individually negotiated by Wolfstep to provide a commanding 3,000 sq.m gateway site to the entry of the Box Hill Office Enterprise zone.
The corner site has great exposure to two major road arteries Whitehorse Road and Elgar Road.
Wolfsteps vision for the site being developed in the mid 80s was for a radical eye catching design aimed at creating a landmark building in the spirit of the then emerging IT industries in the eastern suburbs.
Various designs were considered before settling on a daring and difficult angled full length glazing system with horizontal concrete projections to achieve the required fire separation between floors.
With careful utilisation of the site levels and falls, separate car park entries from the rear Prospect Street frontage were achieved for ground, basement and 1st floor levels. This innovative approach allows many building occupants to walk directly into their office from the car park without needing to use the lift.
A highlight of the project is the lovely and spacious rooftop paved garden area complete with trees and seating. Adjacent to this outdoor rooftop facility are change rooms, shower facilities and a mini gymnasium for the more actively inclined.
