Formerly occupied by a used car operator, this site prominently located on the corner of Canterbury Rd and The Aveune, was purchased in an off market transaction.
Site challenges included 6 meter wide Vicroads Public Acquisition Overlay, residential neighbours to the rear and Council height limits.
Clever design takes advantage of the 3 meter fall from the rear of the site to Canterbury Road with access to the main level of car parking from Canterbury Road. Access to the upper level of car parking is from The Avenue via the right of way running along the rear of the site.
Architectural features include a glazed curtain wall facade, exposed alucabond vertical fins highlighting the pedestrian entry, rendered precast panels, exposed steel channels to the entrance canopy, double volume foyer with highlight glazing and natural light to 3 sides.
The foyer features polished white travertine floor tiles with contrasting black granite borders, open stair with polished white travertine landing at base, black granite treads and stainless steel handrail, honed red travertine slats on foyer wall with full height black feature light boxes and black granite directory board.
